About the Artist

Andy Amato has been passionate about drawing and painting for as long as he can remember. Portrait drawing has always been a distinct favorite of his. Andy’s love for American history and the Civil War has given him the perfect subject matter for his artistic expression.

Andy describes his style as “sort of realistic”. When rendering a portrait he says ‘My hope is that the finished product will result in a piece of art that will be both pleasing to the viewer and also do justice to the subject I am trying to capture.”

Andy enjoys working with different media such as graphite, transparent and opaque watercolor, and other mediums, sometimes mixing them to get a desired effect.

Andy makes his home in Boston, MA where he lives with his wife and three children.
